Book review of Artemis Fowl #2 The Arctic Incident

Posted on Categories Inspirations, QiuYu Huang

It is a really good book, with a lot of actions and fantasy mixed together. In this second adventure of Artemis, he joined his archenemy’s side, Holly Short, the Captain of the LEPrecon.

There was a mission that he can’t do by himself and Butler: saving his father from the hands of criminals, even if Artemis Fowl was a criminal himself.

By joining the LEP side, Artemis had to first have a good argument to join them. But the problem was that Holly used a weapon to neutralize Artemis and Butler, and brought them to the LEP base. There, they would make a deal, and then go to the Arctic Circle, one of the coldest place, where his father had been captured and taken to. At the same moment, the LEP had a case coming up: goblins, even if they weren’t really intelligent and used softnose lasers, one of the weapons that had been banned many eons ago. The softnoses were powered by human batteries, (five shots for one battery) and it was Foaly’s job to find out who sold it to the goblins. Another “at the same moment”, the LEP forces had a betrayer: someone who was planning to invade the LEP’s base and the Police Plaza…

Go check the book to know if they did it, saving the father of Artemis Fowl and rescuing the base at time with the help of Holly, or Artemis’ father was dead because Artemis did not make it on time and the whole Police Plaza plus the LEPrecon base would be crushed and destroyed by 200 goblins with softnoses…

Remember: Artemis Fowl is a criminal, so all can happen.

Spoiler :

So, what happened:

First Artemis Fowl did the argument and won, so the fairies has an ally? After several plans to save his father from the Arctic Circle, they went there and tricked the guards inside who kidnapped his dad. But a lot of things happened before. Artemis and his group went to the Police Plaza to save Foaly and the entire fairies warlock. They did, but Commander Root broke some ribs, which did not really matter because Holly healed him using fairy magic… Holly Short and Artemis played important roles in this stunning story.
