Celebrating Monkey Year

Born in 2004, Q is a monkey, but a mature one.

Now, after 11.3 years, we are welcoming the second monkey year.

As we know, there are 12 animals representing 12 blocks in Chinese Zodiac.  Each block has a time-length of one-year.

Monkey is the ninth animal in the cycle. The previous Year of Monkey was in 2004 and the next Year of Monkey will be in year 2028, by then, Q will be 24 years old (23 years+2 months to be exact).

What does this zodiac sign mean? What is the general image of people in this zodiac sign?

Monkey people are generally smart, clever and intelligent, especially in their career and wealth. In addition, they are honest and gentle which usually bring them an everlasting love life. But be careful, they can be arrogant and self-fish. So, monkeys, if you find yourself in that category, work on it, will you?

Now we are getting together to celebrate the new year! We always love to “hot pot” with people we like! This year, we are lazy (replacing all glass with plastic utensils). Our guests include Yang and Cici’s family. I am not too used to host such party; now when I look back, I feel like I should have done all the following things:

  • We should have kept all nice utensils which might boost more festival atmosphere.

  • I should have taken more care of Cici’s mom; She had been very lonely during the dinner and game time

  • I should have spent more time on sharing recent news and updates with Yang and Cici. I feel like I have missed those sharing moments.

  • I should have replaced the photographer or at least trained him a little more so that we would have all nice heads and smile in one photo

 But the dinner was great; thanks to Simon’s hard-working on grocery shopping..

As usual, we played long-hours’ board game, Sebastian and Cici dominated all games; I had been counting on Qiuyu to save us, but he was busying watching movies (3 movies in a row: Inside Out; Maze Runner 2; Transcendence).

After dinner, we played Ticket to Ride; I finished the last as usual. .. Again, I am So  bad at this game!

We had this delicious cake around 11PM. While I was so enjoying the cake, Sebastian and Cici are so concerned about the calories carried with it..

 Not too proud of this: at the end, all of us spent about half an hour doing math problems on the Khan Website nearing the midnight. What kind of people we are?! I guess we all love maths……….
