Every year in March, we all go to Trois Riviere to celebrate Shawn’s birthday (he is a lucky guy). While waiting for the birthday lunch, we play Trois Riviere Open to kill the time.

Chess is hard.
The rating goes up so quickly. You don’t pay enough attention to understand what you have missed along the way.
Then you find yourself losing games and making draws you should’t, and getting frustrated over it because you don’t exactly know why.
We all know what it takes to make progress in chess. But 1+1 does not equal to 2. There are other things pulling you away.
So, what keeps you fighting when the going gets tough?
A lot of that depends on how badly you want it. If you don’t want it enough, you are not going to do it when it gets tough. That is when 90% of people decide to quit. That is why only small portion of people stay in the battle.
No advice, just keep going and take some time to think about what, why, and how.
